DNA Day is the best day of the year where we come together as an agency to learn, play, celebrate our past year’s wins, examine our challenges and set intentions for the year ahead.

How did you celebrate DNA Day this year? Wait… what? You don’t know what DNA Day is?!?  It’s just the best day of the year where we come together as an agency to learn, play, celebrate our past year’s wins, examine our challenges and set intentions for the year ahead. Our annual goal is to OUTDO the previous DNA DAY – no easy feat, as in the past we’ve gone curling, had a cheer squad-led spirit rally, performed improv, got down with Dance Church and got caught up with an AI intensive. It’s all really fun, bizarre and deeply collaborative.

This year, DNA Day’s focus was *inspiration*–how to get inspired, how to be inspiring and how to find inspiration even when it’s hardest. Of course not everyone is inspired by the same kinda things, but given DNA’s emphasis on cognitive diversity, we wondered: what if we rooted inspiration in our team’s passions? What if we inspired each other by sharing what inspires us?

Everyone in the agency submitted their passions & superpowers: skills, interests and hobbies they have outside of work. We assembled teams who shared interests, and they built 30-minute workshops centered on that interest, which they presented on DNA Day.

Passion workshops were wide-ranging, from D&D to terrarium building. One team created an interactive music studio for people to make a backing track for a 30-second ad. BUT MOST THRILLING OF ALL? Team PERSONAL FINANCE, who led a riveting seminar on… per$onal finan¢e (it was actually really good).

The result was a day of intimate team-building. Vulnerability abounded as we all shared pieces of ourselves that we don’t typically bring to the office. It felt safe, sweet, and playful. DNA is not just a place where bringing your whole self to work is allowed; it’s encouraged and celebrated. The day was a living, breathing manifestation of ‘Different Wins’, led by and for us.
